Team

I was the only designer responsible for the UX research and UI design.

The Problem

Some music player apps on the market today are difficult to navigate, and don’t always find accurate selections of music, or they just provide music of well known artists. For musicians, and music enthusiasts it is difficult to find an app where you can not only listen to your favorite artists, but also create beats and music to create your own personalized tracks, as well as listen and follow upcoming talent, without having to use different softwares to achieve everything you want. That is what MUSIKA is all about. Stream your favorite music & artists, create your own beats and songs to share online with the world, all in one place.

The goal/objective

Create an all-in-one music lover mobile app to listen to your favorite artists & podcasts, and create your own personalized beats, songs, and sounds.

Research

I adopted one of the primary methods for conducting the user research. User surveys, I used Google Forms to do this, with my audience ranging from everyday music lovers to actual musicians, and artists. The results showed a diverse range of data showing the users taste, behaviors and preferences. Some of the questions were the following:

Task flows

I proceeded to create a few task flows that would represent a user’s journey through specific tasks. A task flow allows me to consider how one piece of content connects to the next.

Site Map

I used FigJam to create the information architecture, to demonstrate the visual representation of the apps organization and how different sections are linked together.
